Bag Styles Our flexible packaging come in a variety of styles

Common Material Uses

Polyethylene (PE)

Polyethylene is a strong, flexible, durable, and versatile material ideal for soft packaging. This plastic film is resistant to rips and tears and serves as a protective barrier when layered with other substrates for soft packaging. As a protective coating, it helps resist sun damage and fading as well as resistant to colder temperatures, dirt, and dust. Polyethylene bags are waterproof and translucent perfect for food storage due to moisture resistance. Adaptable and nonreactive to most other elements, Polyethylene is able to hold variable contents without risk of damage or contamination to the contents.

Polyethylene Terephthalate(PET)

The most prevalent material in flexible packaging Polyethelyne comes in Clear, Metallic, and Matte. It can be paired and layered with Biaxially and Monoaxial Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP, OPP) or Aluminum. Depending on your product, the necessary shelf life, and environmental factors will dictate the ideal combination of materials. PET is clear, tough, and has good gas and moisture barrier properties. As a raw material, Polyethylene is globally recognized as a strong, lightweight, flexible material that is 100% recyclable. Polyethylene Terephthalate is often referred to as Mylar.

Kraft Paper(KPAP, PAP)

For more environmentally friendly options we carry biodegradable paper material as well as a Kraft paper option produced from a special pulp process that adds strength and durability to the final paper product. Kraft paper can also be paired with Clear PE (Polyethylene) if there is a need for transparency or window effects. We can also create Kraft paper bags with metalized interiors. This would be a triple layer of brown craft with Aluminum or BOPP or PET which adds moisture control and oxygen transmission control. Kraft Paper has high tensile strength, elasticity, and good tear resistance, and is designed for packaging products with high demand for strength and durability.

Aluminum(AL)

Aluminum is a malleable, lightweight, and non-toxic material that is added to PET or BOPP and OPP soft packaging materials in order to add protection to the contents of bags and pouches. Pouches and bags may have 3-4 layers of different substrates that may include Aluminum as a thin layer to add protection to the contents from extreme temperatures, from light and moisture transmission. This quality makes Aluminum extremely important for food and other organic products that rely on the conservation of freshness and barriers again microorganisms.

Monoaxial or Biaxial OrientedPolypropylene (OPP, BOPP)

Kraft paper can also be paired with Clear PE (Polyethylene) if there is a need for transparency or window effects. We can also create Kraft paper bags with metalized interiors. Metallic Polyethelyne Terephthalate(AL)

Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) films are durable, heat-resistant films with very good oxygen barrier properties. When PET films are laminated with an aluminum metal or hologram foil layer that is applied via a vacuum-type process they are referred to as MPET VMPET or METPET. This addition will increase the film’s oxygen-water barrier and block out UV rays. Metalized PET films for flexible packaging are essential when the product requires extra protection to ensure longer shelf life by adding temperature resistance and also providing protective properties for food items requiring restricted visibility and compositional stability by acting as a barrier to all gases, moisture, and reflector of radiant heat.

Polyethylene TerephthalatePolyamide Polyethylene (PET + PA + PE)

Polyethylene Terephthalate Polyamide Polyethylene material is a multilayer bag option with vacuum sealing for food products. This material has high durability and due to the vacuum sealing a reduction of oxygen permeability allows for longer shelf life. A complex laminated film, these bags have a high thickness, and toughness and is extremely waterproof and moisture resistant. These bags are also commonly lined with polyethylene.
